La Cooperativa Agraria Industrial Naranjillo fue creada el 20 de diciembre de 1964 y fueron 32 los socios fundadores que iniciaron el desarrollo agropecuario en la zona; con el fin de combatir a los comerciantes intermediarios que pagaban precios bajos por sus productos.
El primer presidente del consejo de administración fue Don Leoncio Lescano Alva y el primer presidente de consejo de vigilancia fue Don Victor Reyes Roca, los cuales iniciaron el destino de la Cooperativa Agropecuaria Naranjillo Ltda..

CECOVASA is the Central Organization of Small-holder Coffee Farmer Cooperatives in the Sandia Valleys. It was founded by Quechua and Aymara smallholder growers in the region in 1970. Cooperative membership comprises of men and women. Their hard work is rewarded by through the production of uniquely flavoured quality coffee. Thanks to Fairtrade, they are able to continue to raise their standard of living and improve coffee production.

Peterson Farms began processing tart cherries off our own farms in 1984. Our growth over the past years now allows us to market over 125 million pounds of frozen fruits and asparagus each year along with 5 million gallons of single strength apple juice/cider and juice concentrates.
