The 2015 MRL Workshop will be June 3-4 in San Francisco: The interactive seminar will address critically important issues for stakeholders with interests in exporting agricultural products. Growers, packers, shippers, PCAs, registrants, regulators, trade experts, and other stakeholders in international trade are strongly encouraged to attend.

Presentation Topics: international trade trends, global registrations, pesticide residue monitoring, MRL strategies for growers, updates for international residue standards (US, NAFTA, Asia, EU, Codex, global etc.), inadvertent issues and panel discussions. III International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology

On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committees, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the “III International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology: Using Science to Increase Food Availability” that will be held in Bari (Italy), June 7-11, 2015, under the patronage of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), the International Society of Plant Pathology (ISPP), the Italian Phytopathological Society (SIPaV) and EXPO2015.

The first ISHS symposium on this topic was held four years ago (2010) in Leesburg, VA, USA, and focused on the biological control of postharvest diseases. The second was held in 2013 in Kusadasi, Turkey, and broadened the topic to include a variety of innovative new approaches to postharvest disease control. The third meeting, to be held in Bari, will further broaden the topic as it will be held in collaboration with the Postharvest Pathology Subject Matter Committee of the ISPP, who last met in 2011 in Lleida, Spain. The upcoming symposium in Bari will explore a wide-range of recent advances in postharvest pathology and disease control. The long-term goal of this series of symposia is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, methods, technologies, and ideas among scientists, industry, producers, and retailers in order to develop effective, appropriate, and commercially-viable approaches to postharvest disease management of fruit and vegetables, that will help to prevent the loss of vital food resources in all of the vastly different types of production chains and markets. Demand for safe and nutritious produce is rapidly growing as the world population increases, and yields are threatened by global climate change. Preserving the quality of harvested products represents a very significant approach to address the challenge of providing and maintaining an adequate food supply.

The symposium will include invited lectures, contributed oral and poster presentations, and exhibitions. Opportunities to visit packinghouses, production sites, and places of local interest during the symposium will also be arranged.
