Exporting Certified Cocoa to Europe
Production of certified cocoa beans has increased significantly over the past five years and the European market for certified cocoa is expected to grow. Growth is driven by increasing demand for transparency on the chocolate market and by sustainable sourcing commitments of major cocoa processors and manufacturers. Production and sales of certified cocoa have yet to reach a balance, as more than one third of all certified beans are not sold as such. As an exporter, you should find buyers that are prepared to make long-term commitments with regard to volume and type of certification required.
